A Newton Aycliffe chippy is up for sale – but you batter get in quick to catch it.
Reds Fish Bar in Woodham Village has been put on the market for £275,000.
The unit – located on St Elizabeth’s Close near the Huntsman – has been a popular fish and chip shop for a decade.
But the owner has decided to sell up after 10 years due to family commitments.
It’s now been listed on Right Move, with an asking price of £275k.
Boasting a bain-marie and one large Omega four pan island range, there is also a main sales counter, cash register and soft drinks fridge in the leasehold opportunity.
Alongside the main equipment, there are also several stainless-steel benches, two microwaves, eight ring gas oven, double drainer stainless steel industrial sink, hand wash sink, coco cola fridge as well as a stainless-steel fridge and freezer, as well as a staff toilet and several other pieces of equipment.
Despite all the benefits of the store being listed on Rightmove, the lease states that there is a restriction that pizzas and kebabs cannot be sold because of the high reputation of the fish and chip sales, which has a potential for a high turnover of 63 per cent, according to the sale site.
Currently, the owner works full-time in the business along with one other main fryer, and a complement of skilled part-time staff.
The current lease ends in 2023 with the landlord willing to give a new lease – terms to be agreed.
