Norton 1st XI v Newton Aycliffe 1st XI – weather was windy and overcast. Norton won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Newton Aycliffe’s first team beat the weather and completed a league double over Norton 1st team when they came out on top by 62 runs in their away fixture in the NYSD 2nd division. Captain Sam Telford (sponsored by Utility Warehouse, pictured above) again led from the front with his fourth half century of the season, top scoring with a superb 61 from 59 balls faced and his innings included six well hit boundaries.
This excellent performance consolidates Aycliffe’s fifth place position in the second division table with 243 points from 18 games played and they are now only six points behind third-placed Norton and with a game in hand.
