Newton Aycliffe boss Allan Oliver has dramatically resigned.
The Newtonians gaffer has told friends he’s stepping down following his side’s fifth consecutive defeat at Whitley Bay yesterday.
Ironically, Aycliffe produced one of their better performances of the season at Hillheads on Saturday, outplaying the Northern League heavyweights.
But Oliver has apparently had enough, walking out on the club after five unforgettable years at the helm.
“I’ve had my fill,” Oliver allegedly said.
“We did enough to win five games yesterday, I don’t know what else we have to do.
“But I’ve had enough of walking round with a floor lip – it’s time to go.”
Aycliffe Today will bring you more on this story after 12noon.
