Newton Aycliffe have been drawn at home in the FA Cup as two different roads to Wembley opened up on Friday.
The draws for both the FA Cup and FA Vase have been made, and in the world famous FA Cup – held by Arsenal – the Newtonians will host Garforth Town, from West Yorkshire.
Garforth play at an equivalent level to Dan Mellanby’s side, and include Brazilian legend Socrates and former England winger Lee Sharpe as notable former players.
In the FA Vase, a trophy dominated in recent years by Northern League clubs, Aycliffe will take to the road and travel to Daisy Hill FC, of the North West Counties league.
The FA Cup game with Garforth will take place at Moore Lane Park on Saturday August 16th, whilst the Vase game in greater Manchester is scheduled for September.
Full reaction from the draw will follow next week.
