There will be no changes to bin collections in County Durham over the August bank holiday.
Rubbish, recycling and garden waste will be picked up as normal, on the usual collection day, during the week commencing Monday 26 August 2019.
Residents should put their bins out for collection by 7am on their normal collection day.
Those who are unsure of their collection day can download a bin collection calendar by entering their postcode and house number into the MyDurham section of the council’s website at www.durham.gov.uk
For more information about bin collections please visit www.durham.gov.uk/bincollections and to find out which items go where visit www.durham.gov.uk/whatgoeswhere.
Residents are also reminded that the council’s Customer Access Points, libraries and leisure centres will be closed during the Bank Holiday but its theatres, cinemas and museums will remain open.
In the event of an emergency, residents can still contact the council on 03000 260 000 or use the 24/7 automated payments line on 0300 456 2771.
Online services will still be accessible over the Bank Holiday but requests will not be processed until council offices reopen on Tuesday.
