An art gallery depicting life in and around Newton Aycliffe is due to go on show.
Greenfield Arts is inviting the public to the preview of its latest exhibition by Mike Connell on Wednesday September 6, 6pm to 8pm.
Mike, who describes his style as realistic but characterful, has based his exhibition on his own observation and experience.
Accompanying the exhibition is memorabilia and personal artefacts from Mike’s childhood growing up in the town during the 1950s and 60s, including items his parents received as some of the first families to move to the New Town.
“This exhibition highlights the importance of art as a form of expression for people of all walks of life,” said a spokesperson for Greenfield Arts.
“It offers a creative space where visitors can experience personal accounts of Newton Aycliffe’s local history.”
Mike will also be in attendance at the preview event to discuss and provide insight into his work with artworks for sale throughout the exhibition.
Greenfield’s Gallery Opening Times are 10am-9pm Monday–Thursday and 10am-4pm Fridays.
