A round-up of the weekend’s cricket action…

For the second consecutive game, Newton Aycliffe’s first team could only manage a hard-earned draw, this time away at Bedale. Patrick Howe (pictured above, sponsored by Tom Steele) had a good day for Aycliffe, scoring 20 runs taking a wicket and also holding onto a catch. However, after three games, Aycliffe still await their first win of the season after two draws and one defeat.
Saturday 27th April – NYSD Division 4
Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI v Bedale 2nd XI
The 2nd team’s first game of the season got off to a damp start as their game was abandoned without a ball being bowled due persistent rain.
