January 22, 2016 at 8:50 amIs it any wonder that crimes are going up in the Aycliffe area. You stand more chance of seeing Sheagar being riden by Lord Lucan in Newton Aycliffe than you do seeing police officers on patrol trying to prevent crime. The police in this area only ever SEEM to respond to events only after it has taken place.
Unreal that the Crime Commissioned is asking for an increase in council tax for the police, exactly for what? A decrease in service, lack of response times, less officers on patrol and an increase in crime. Seems like a very good waste of tax payers money to me.
Come on Durham Police, instead of sending officers from Darlington to cover this town lets have our own officers back on a 24/7 cover, at least the honest folk of Newton Aycliffe would be provided with some form of reassurance.
