Woodham Academy is to receive a grant of almost £500,000 to improve facilities at the school.
The funds will be used to repair the roof structure and enhance the internal fabric of the building which will improve the learning environment for pupils.
Woodham was selected following a prioritisation process by the Department for Education which received requests for more than £1.6 billion for over 3,500 projects at over 2,200 academies and sixth-form colleges.
The work will take place over the summer and it is anticipated this will be the first phase of significant investment in the school facilities and infrastructure.
